To mark 20 years of its Republic of Gamers brand, ASUS used Computex 2026 to unveil one of the most extravagant graphics cards it has ever built: the ROG Astral GeForce RTX 5090 Edition 20. Part of a broader "Edition 20" lineup that also includes a case, motherboard, and power supply, the card takes the already-premium ROG Astral RTX 5090 and pushes it even further, both in engineering and in price.

The Edition 20 line exists purely to commemorate ROG's 20th anniversary, and the RTX 5090 version is its graphics-card centerpiece. Rather than simply reskinning the existing Astral, ASUS built a genuinely distinct card: bigger, more powerful, and dressed in a black-and-gold color scheme accented with red, a clear departure from the standard Astral's look. ASUS has described the card as reflecting the values behind two decades of the ROG brand, not just a cosmetic refresh. What sets the Edition 20 apart from every other RTX 5090 on the market is a curved AMOLED display built into the card itself, wrapping around a rear corner. ASUS says the screen can show dynamic 3D visuals, custom animations, or real-time hardware monitoring data, effectively turning the GPU into a showcase piece rather than just a performance component. The display can also sync with other Edition 20 hardware, such as compatible ROG AIO cooler LCDs, so multiple screens in the same build can display coordinated content. To make room for the panel, ASUS had to grow the card's dimensions. The result is a design measuring roughly 36.1 x 13.9 x 9.4 cm, making it 4.7 slots thick — noticeably larger than the standard Astral's already substantial footprint. ASUS says the extra space was also used to reinforce the card's heatsink. The Edition 20 pushes power delivery well beyond the standard Astral. It's rated for up to 800W, delivered through a dual-input power subsystem combining a standard 12V-2x6 connector with a detachable GC-HPWR adapter for compatible ASUS BTF motherboards. That extra power budget comes paired with higher clocks: ASUS lists an OC mode boost clock of 2,760 MHz, compared with roughly 2,467-2,610 MHz on the regular Astral OC Edition — matching the specs of ASUS's ROG Matrix RTX 5090. Cooling is handled by the same quad-fan design that debuted on the original Astral, which ASUS says improves airflow and pressure by up to 20% versus prior designs. On the Edition 20, that system is paired with liquid metal thermal compound on the GPU die and a patented vapor chamber, rather than the phase-change thermal pad used on the standard Astral, aimed at squeezing out sustained performance at the card's much higher power ceiling. Beneath the anniversary dressing, the GPU itself is the same Blackwell 2.0 silicon found across the RTX 5090 lineup: 21,760 CUDA cores and 32GB of GDDR7 memory on a 512-bit bus, running alongside DLSS 4.5 and NVIDIA's Multi Frame Generation technology. Beyond the display, the Edition 20 gets a transparent glass backplate that shows off the card's internal design, along with the black-and-gold Edition 20 aesthetic shared across the anniversary lineup. ASUS positions the look as a deliberate step up from the standard Astral, meant to make the card feel like a collector's piece as much as a performance product. The Edition 20 is, unsurprisingly, the most expensive RTX 5090 ASUS has ever sold. It carries an implied price of $5,499 — above even the ROG Matrix Platinum 30th Anniversary card at $3,999, and well beyond the standard ROG Astral RTX 5090, which sells for around $4,349. In the US, however, ASUS has not made the card available on its own. Preorders through the official ASUS store require buyers to purchase the card as part of a mandatory Edition 20 bundle, which adds the ROG GR20 Edition 20 case, ROG Crosshair X870E Edition 20 motherboard, and ROG Thor 3000W Titanium III Edition 20 power supply. Those bundle components add roughly $4,850, bringing the total order to just over $10,349 before tax. ASUS has capped preorders at one unit per customer, with an estimated shipping date in early August 2026. The ROG Astral RTX 5090 Edition 20 is less a practical gaming purchase than a showcase for what ASUS can build when cost is no object. Between its 800W power ceiling, near-five-slot cooler, built-in display, and five-figure bundle price, it's aimed squarely at collectors and no-compromise enthusiasts building a system around the card as a centerpiece — not buyers simply looking for the fastest RTX 5090 they can find.
